Meeting called to order at 9:08 and discussion began about upcoming appointments that would be expiring by the end of the year.

Kathryn Waters - 8/20/06 - eligible for and seeking reappointment - Governor

Hollis Batchelor - 9/4/06 - not eligible for reappointment - Senate

John Welch - 9/4/06 - eligible for and seeking reappointment - Senate

Raul Mateu - 10/3/06 - not seeking reappointment - Governor

Lorraine Wood - 10/16/06 - not seeking reappointment - House

It was agreed by unanimous consent that the following persons be recommended as acceptable replacements to appointing offices.  It was also noted that Kathryn Waters and John Welch would automatically be placed on the list as they are sitting members of the Council seeking reappointment. This action follows the directive of the full Council on this subject.

Kathryn agreed to send the letters to the appointing persons with the bios and/or resumes of those persons.   It was agreed that follow-up letters and phone calls would be made, if necessary, by Arlene Herson.
