23RD ANNUAL CRYSTAL REEL AWARDS CALL FOR ENTRY DEADLINES ANNOUNCED

(DeLand, FL) Florida Motion Picture & Television Association (FMPTA), and the CRA Executive Committee, announces that the CALL FOR ENTRY for the 23rd Annual Crystal Reel Awards deadlines are August 30th, 2012 for ALL categories. The Crystal Reel Awards are open to any motion picture, television, audio recording or digital media production, with a minimum of 60% of it created in the State of Florida during the period of January 1, 2011 through August 30th, 2012. This timeline is to allow the productions shot during the summer months to enter this year. Entries must not have been entered in a prior year. The deadline to submit scripts/screenplays, either produced or unproduced, has been extended to August 30th, 2012. All other entry categories must be received by 5pm on August 30th, 2012. Entry forms are available on the FMPTA web site (www.fmpta.org).

"While the submission process has been stream-lined this year, to make entry simpler and more cost effective," explained Executive Producer, Thomas P. Mitchell, Sr. "We expect the extended 'completion date', combined with the usage of online submissions will increase our entries this year, from both the emerging and established professionals."

Work returned to Florida in 2010, as is noticed by the out of state interest level. "We've received calls from production companies from as far away as California for projects filmed in Florida,” stated the jubilant CRA Producer Linda K. Nesmith.

The culmination of the judging by industry Oscar, Emmy and/or Grammy nominated/winning judges is the 23rd Annual Crystal Reel Awards Gala, November 9th & 10th, 2012 at the lovely Florida Hotel and Conference Center. The awards will be presented during the "Starlight Celebration," being billed as, "Come out and celebrate with the Stars," on November 10th.

FMPTA serves the motion picture, television, audio recording and digital media industries in the State of Florida. Members include producers, directors, casting agents, cameramen, actors, stuntmen, technicians, make-up artists, set designers, equipment rental companies, recording studios and trade/craft services.
