She recently won an Emmy for best direction for Great Hotels, the first Travel Channel show distinguished with this award.

As producer and director, find out how Sylvia puts together some of the nation's most watched travel programs and learn from her experiences as an independent film producer. She recently wrapped production on Passport to Europe's French Rivera and is currently producing her own feature length documentary about Down syndrome, Angels Among Us. This very personal documentary chronicles the affects of Down syndrome on two consecutive generations of Sylvia's family, her brother and her young nephew, and examines the institutionalization of those with Down syndrome years ago. Sylvia is also prepping a feature length film she will produce scheduled to shoot his November on the west coast of Florida. She plans to direct The Exchange, a feature, which she co-wrote in 2006

In 1994 Sylvia's first film as a producer, MEN LIE won many awards including "the audience award" at the Florida Film Festival. Her feature film career began in New York as a Production Assistant in charge of extras where she got to work with some of her heroes including Scorsese, DeNiro & Pacino.
