"THE TREATY" TAKES HOME ADDITIONAL AWARDS

BLUE JUICE FILMS' independent short film THE TREATY received an Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Short Subject at VISIONFEST 03, a.k.a. the Guerrilla Film & Video Festival. VISIONFEST 03 was held this year in the 300 seat screening room aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in Manhattan. The festival encourages and promotes domestic production and focuses entirely on the works of U.S. based filmmakers.
THE TREATY Director Mike Horan, Producer Michael Misconi, and Cinematographer Thomas Mumme were on hand to accept the award, and Horan noted “New York is such a spectacular place and for a single event to be able to stand out amidst that is truly amazing. Next for THE TREATY will be its West Coast Premiere at the Da Vinci Film & Video Festival, held July 18-20 in Corvallis, Oregon, www.davinci-days.org/schedule/film_festival.htm. The DaVinci Film and Video Festival is held annually as part of a three-day festival celebrating art, science and technology. THE TREATY will show Saturday, July 19th at 9:36pm.
THE TREATY, tells the story of Joe (Ryan Smith), a corporate underachiever who discovers that his soul is owned by the Devil in an agreement between Heaven and Hell. When the consequences of his actions come to light, Joe struggles to find redemption. The 19-minute Super 16 mm film was shot entirely on location in Gainesville, Florida. In addition to the recent New York success, THE TREATY received Best Film at the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival, Honorable Mention for Best Narrative at the Carolina Film & Video Festival, and was an Official Selection of both the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival, and the Brouhaha Film and Video Showcase in Orlando.
