THE RICHARD AND PAT JOHNSTON PALM BEACH COUNTY HISTORY MUSEUM LAUNCHES YOUTUBE VIDEO COMPETITON

The contest winner will be one of the very first visitors to tour the new museum that will open inside the restored 1916 courthouse in Downtown West Palm on Sunday, March 16, 2008.

YouTube video submissions are welcome through March 13, 2008 at www.youtube.com/group/historicalsocietypbc, and the winner will be announced March 14, 2008. Submissions should include entrant’s first name/place of residence and “Johnson History Museum Contest” in the title before being uploaded to YouTube.com. Videos should run approximately 0:30-0:60 seconds, with a maximum limit of two minutes. This contest is open to all ages (children under 18 must get parental approval to receive the grand prize).

One grand prize winner will receive a private tour of the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum (for the winner and up to six family members and friends). The prize package also includes a $1,000 savings bond from National City, a basket of great merchandise from the Museum gift shop, a $100 gift certificate from Leila’s, the sensational Middle Eastern restaurant in Downtown West Palm Beach.

Winners will be selected by a three-member panel appointed by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Judging criteria is as follows: Historical accuracy, originality, creativity and the number of people who view your video on YouTube.
