"THE GRAND" TO OPEN PALM BEACH FILM FESTIVAL

Zak Penn's poker comedy, "The Grand," will open the 13th annual Palm Beach International Film Festival, running April 10-17. Among 141 films unspooling are twelve world premieres, including Daniel and David Holechek's "300" spoof, "305" and Michael King's docu "Rapping with Shakespeare." Stephen Walker's doc on a spirited senior citizen chorus group, "Young@Heart," will close the event. Fest will also put on a black-tie awards gala at the Boca Raton Resort and Club to honor Mickey Rooney and "Juno" director Jason Reitman. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" actress Cheryl Hines and "Bridge to Terabithia" actor Josh Hutcherson will also receive awards.
Other special features include a Family Film Fest, "A Salute to the Middle Eastern Rim," showcasing films from Israel, and "Visions of Morocco." Seminars include topics on emerging technologies, film production and financing.
