ORLANDO HISPANIC FILM FESTIVAL JULY EVENTS

Orange County Library System (OCLS) FREE workshops July 9th & July 23rd (Wednesdays) 2008 at 7PM.

These workshops are dedicated to highlighting local film schools. On July 9th, Valencia Community College’s film program director, Ralph Clemente will showcase examples of student film projects on the library’s big screen and speak about the film school. On July 23rd, OHFF and OCLS will host Full Sail University as they screen student shorts and offer information about their film and music programs.
OCLS “Stay Tuned” Teen Film Festival, which runs through July 31, 2008. Teens can create a commercial for a library program, video game, book or movie and submit to win prizes and a chance to be seen on the big screen at the Orlando Hispanic Film Festival Oct 10-12. Submissions are FREE. Entertainment and education industry professionals will judge all festival submissions. Teen film submissions will be viewed at the Orlando Public Library Thursday, August 7, 2008 7PM. The winner will be announced following the screenings.
Finally, as a part of the “3rd Wednesdays Indie Film Summer Series”, OHFF will be screening another 2007 audience favorite, “Revolucion en el Infierno”. The film is based on facts of the massacre at Ponce, Puerto Rico March 21st, 1937. Screening will take place Wednesday July 16, 2008 7PM at the Premiere Cinemas 14 in the Orlando Fashion Square, 3201 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando FL 32803. Tickets are $8.00 and $6.00 for students and seniors.
